Coffee Reviews should work for everyone, whether you use a mouse, a keyboard, a screen reader or a magnifier. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
Keyboard support
- A Skip to content link is the first stop on every page, and interactive elements show a visible focus outline.
- Press ⌘K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux to open search from anywhere. The / key works too when you're not typing in a field.
- On the flavor wheel, tab to the wheel, then use the arrow keys to move between flavors, Enter or Space to select one, Z to zoom into a flavor's family and Esc to zoom back out. Where the wheel can spin, S spins it. Screen readers announce each flavor as you move.
- In the video viewer, the left and right arrow keys move between videos and Esc closes it.
Reduced motion
If your device is set to reduce motion, we turn off animations and transitions across the site. The flavor wheel doesn't keep coasting after you drag it, and a spin lands on its flavor right away instead of rotating.
Also built in
- Light and dark themes that follow your system setting, with a toggle in the header.
- Text labels for screen readers on icon-only buttons.
- Video players that load only when you press play, so nothing starts on its own.
Known limits
Some parts of the site come from other services. The YouTube and TikTok players and Cloudflare's bot check are outside our direct control, and captions in creator videos depend on the creator. If one of these gets in your way, tell us and we'll help you another way.
Tell us what isn't working
If something is hard to use, contact us with the page address, what you were trying to do, and your device, browser and any assistive technology. We aim to reply within three business days, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs to fix.
