A quiet, low-mess 64 mm flat-burr single-doser built only for filter coffee, with excellent grind quality for the money.
The Ode Gen 2 is Fellow's brew-only electric grinder: 64 mm stainless flat burrs, 31 steps across 11 numbered settings, a 100 g single-dose load bin, auto-stop, anti-static technology and a built-in knocker. Fellow states it is not intended for espresso. Reviewers praise its filter cup clarity, speed and much lower static than the first-generation Ode; the finned catch cup and the $399.95 price are the common gripes.

Watch-outs
How it scored
Gear score out of 10, weighted across five factors.
Homegrounds rates its filter grind quality among the best at its price and Coffeeness reports exceptional clarity, but it cannot be dialed for espresso.
Aluminum body, 64 mm stainless burrs and a 2-year warranty; reviewers' complaints are minor (a stiff power cord, a finned catch cup).
Single-dose loading, auto-stop, a knocker and much-reduced static make for a clean, quick workflow; the cup fins trap a few grounds.
At $399.95 it costs twice Fellow's own espresso-capable Opus 2 ($199.95), which reviewers suggest to anyone who also wants espresso.
One of the most-reviewed filter grinders, covered by James Hoffmann, Lance Hedrick and Kyle Rowsell, with broadly positive takes on the Gen 2 fixes.

What people are saying
Verbatim from Reddit, forums and long-term owner write-ups — linked so you can read the full thread.
“I have to say that the new anti-static system in the Fellow Ode 2 is a massive improvement from the first model, which I previously considered one of the messier grinders on the market. The Gen 2 turns that completely around; it’s one of the cleanest grinders I’ve worked with.”
“It can grind coffee beans to about 300 microns, which is technically suitable for espresso, but the issue is the large gap between settings. With only 31 grind size options, there is simply no way to dial in the particle size with the required precision.”
“Let’s just say I wasn’t disappointed. Fellow has really delivered something special here – the Gen 2 Ode ground quickly and evenly. What’s more, I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such clarity and depth of flavor from this Ethiopian coffee.”
“Before testing the Gen 2 Ode, I’d heard the manufacturer had completely redesigned the catch cup. However, aside from being slightly larger, the new cup still has the pesky fins that most users of the original hated.”

FAQ
No. Fellow states the Ode is not intended for espresso, and Homegrounds found that with only 31 grind options there is no way to dial espresso precisely. Fellow points espresso drinkers to its Opus grinder.
The Gen 2 uses new 64 mm Gen 2 Brew Burrs that grind finer, adds anti-static technology, and enlarges the load bin to 100 g. Reviewers say static and mess dropped dramatically versus Gen 1.
The load bin holds 100 g, enough that Homegrounds notes you can grind a full 10-cup drip batch in one go. It is designed for single dosing, so you weigh beans before each grind.
Fellow sells the Ode Gen 2 with SSP MP Red Speed burrs for $599.95. Reviewers such as Our Coffee Shelter found SSP MP adds clarity and crispness, but the stock Gen 2 burrs already give sweet, balanced filter coffee.
